This weekend course is part of a series designed for those who want to learn Classical Greek. Over a series of weekends, Beginner students are introduced to the basic elements of grammar through reading passages adapted from ancient Greek authors. At Intermediate level, students move onto collections of passages selected from major Greek writers, and finally, in the Advanced groups, students read what they choose from the whole of Greek literature. The set text for this Advanced Greek class is Homer Odyssey book 13. Recommended editions: A.M. Bowie (ed.), Homer Odyssey Books XIII and XIV (Cambridge University Press, 2013); W.B. Stanford (ed.) Homer: Odyssey XIII-XXIV (Bristol Classical Press, 1998).
Students must provide their own copies of the text.
