Dr Tim Swanwick

Tim spent several years as a postgraduate dean and senor clinical adviser for Health Education England and most recently as Director of Clinical Leadership Development for the NHS Leadership Academy.  He has a clinical background in general practice and a broad base of expertise in work-based learning, professional support, academic careers, leadership, and faculty development. Tim’s publications include several national reports, around 50 peer-reviewed papers and 10 books including the ABC of Clinical Leadership and ABC of Quality Improvement, Clinical Teaching Made Easy and the internationally acclaimed textbook Understanding Medical Education. Tim has held, and continues to hold, several honorary academic positions, including at professorial level, and is an editor of the journal BMJ Leader.  Full biography available here.
