This course offers an introduction to financial understanding. We will cover: money and capital; cash flows and forecasting; financial reporting; interest and return; and risk management, explaining how companies are valued and how business investors view their investment, addressing topics such as: valuing businesses; discounted cash flow; market and book values; debt capital markets and loan markets; equity shareholder capital markets and private equity. The course will be particularly beneficial for: those studying finance or accounting; anyone self-employed or considering self-employment or a career or internship in finance; business owners, managers, investors or consultants; or anyone just interested in finance and wanting to learn more.  No prior knowledge is required or assumed. This is a 10 session course and must be taken with W110Pm06 in week 1.
