Many people feel strongly that nature has intrinsic value, beyond any value attributed to it by humans. Yet, attempts to articulate this intrinsic value often lapse into instrumentalism, e.g. into how nature makes us (humans) feel. How, then, can we articulate the intrinsic value of nature?
